Meet Julie & Duane. It was in the late 70’s that owner’s, Julie and Duane Schiedler, met in Bend Oregon. Both having been born and raised in Oregon they would soon learn they shared a common interest — the love of gardening. Both passionate about growing organically and having an appreciation for sustainable living, they eventually pursued a new business direction.
Today they share their gardening expertise through classes and workshops offered through Central Oregon Community College and their garden center.
And their little urban farm, The Miracle Acre Farm is located in the heart of Bend’s ‘Old Farm District’.
Julie, the driving force behind Celebrate the Season’s operation, is well-known within the community for her gardening expertise and artistic garden skills. While she enjoyed her past career as a Real Estate Appraiser, she is now focused on her life long passion of flowers.
Duane’s talents also stretch beyond farming (he grew up on a dairy farm in Mt. Angel, Or.), now retired from building cabinets and also focused on the business of flowers, his past cabinet shop The Wood Awakening, was well-known throughout the Central Oregon area for over 40 years.
